The first week back after the half-term holidays and this week has been as fun-packed as ever! Our student teacher Mrs Stephenson has started teaching lessons. In preparation for Shrove Tuesday, we read ‘Mr. Wolf’s pancakes’ by Jan Fearnley. Reception children wrote a shopping list to get the ingredients and counted money. Everyone enjoyed mixing the ingredients. Then everyone enjoyed eating a pancake. There were choices of topping: some had lemon and sugar, others chose chocolate spread or syrup. Some of us mixed all of them! Big thanks again to the Co-op Ryton. On Wednesday, we had a ‘pancake race’ ourside. We even had tunnels and it was fun to go through them. It was World Book Day on Thursday. We enjoyed dressing up and sharing our favourite stories - we even went to the assembly to show off our costumes. On Friday we went down to the Junior School’s library and learned how the library works – run by Year 6 children. We also explore our Hill Area to find signs of spring and other natural objects.
