A belated big thank you to those who were able to come and see the EYFS children in their Nursery Rhyme Performance. They loved performing and it was great to see so many people there. It was a perfect opportunity to practise being on stage in preparation for the Nativity this Friday. We hope you all enjoyed attending the EYFS drop ins to, don’t forget that you can make an appointment to see you child’s class teacher if you were unable to make it last week.

Here is a flavour of what the children have been up to over the last few weeks.

We have been learning all about 2D and 3D shapes in Mathematics - ask the children to tell you about the differences and the special words we use when talking about and describing the shapes!

In Literacy we have shared lots of stories, sequenced and retold them using figures and puppets and copied the words used in the stories. We have been working so hard in phonics to hear, say and recognise the sounds in words and have been trying to remember those pesky Tricky Words which we just need to know!

We have baked cheese ‘stick’ men, been practising our Nativity performance, enjoyed a non-school uniform day where we talked about the importance of charity and, as always, we have been practising our new skills in our play inside and outside. It was anti-bullying week recently so we talked lots about being kind to one another and discussed ways to solve our problems.

We are gearing up for Christmas now with lots of singing, performing and crafts planned. We will decorate our classroom and create an Elf workshop and a Post Office to support our learning. We’ll keep you posted!
