Huge congratulations to our amazing Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics team who competed in the West Gateshead competition on Friday. They took part in a whole afternoon of track and field events and were an amazing team, supporting and cheering each other throughout the competition. After a tremendous performance by everyone, the children were ecstatic to find themselves in first place and proudly received their gold medals. The team will now progress to the Gateshead Finals this Friday and they are all extremely excited. We wish them lots of luck.
On Monday, some of our Y5/6 children took part in the Gateshead Netball Tournament. There were lots of games to be played, with everyone rotating positions to apply a range of attack and defence skills. The team had not competed together before and improved greatly across the course of the afternoon in a series of close-fought matches. Well done to all our players who made us so proud with their fantastic attitude and congratulations to St. Mary's who were the worthy overall winners.
Thank you so much to all of our parents and children for coming together and raising £385.00 for BBC Children in Need 2021!
A special thank you to 5SS who raised £141.23 during their children in need cake sale and to Thea Oxley in Nursery who raised £25.00 taking part in a sponsored walk to school.
Well done to everyone!
What a fantastic week we have had in EYFS!
We have been celebrating the annual World Nursery Rhyme Week. We have sang songs, shared stories linked to the rhymes and practiced our skills while making crafts. It’s been so much fun and we can’t wait for next year already! I wonder what the rhymes might be…
The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us.
‘One Kind Word’ has been chosen as the theme of Anti-Bullying Week.
Please join us in celebrating our lovely kind children next week, starting with wearing odd socks on the 15th of November
So proud of our two Y5/6 Tag Rugby teams who represented the Federation brilliantly yesterday. It was so lovely to be back at competition and watching the children having fun, playing with great determination and enthusiasm whilst improving their skills in every match. The standard was really high but our ‘Ryton Zebras’ won 5 out of 6 matches, qualifying for the finals on Friday. Well done to all our players - you were amazing!
Well done to Ryton Federation and Miss Tague- we submitted a video presentation to Playforce and won this fantastic Play Cabin for our school grounds worth nearly £900! Our children were definitely persuasive when it came to submitting the entry, and the school council enjoyed discussing the possible prizes before deciding to go for the Play Cabin out of the options available. Fantastic- I'm sure the children will love playing in the cabin over the next few months.
The children of Ryton Federation are featuring in a national advertising campaign for Scripture Union, a UK based charity that operates in 120 countries around the world.
Due to the coronavirus we have had to wait a little while to see it in action but can you seen any familiar faces?
