  Apply now for 15 or 30 hours childcare to start your place in April

   

  • NEW: If your child turns two on or before 31st March and you are an eligible working parent in England, you can apply for up to 15 hours childcare or early education per week, over 38 weeks of the year. Read our Education Hub blog to find out more about how to claim 15 hours childcare including how to get your code.

   

  This is the first stage of the biggest ever childcare expansion in England, so you can juggle the job you want with being a parent.

   

  • If your child turns three or four on or before 31st March and you are an eligible working parent in England, you can apply for up to 30 hours childcare or early education per week, over 38 weeks of the year.

   

  The deadline to apply is 31st March. We recommend you do so by the end of February to get your childcare code in good time.

   

  If you haven’t used a childcare provider before or want to change it, find the right one for you and check whether they offer 15 or 30 hours childcare.

  We were very fortunate to have had a visit from 3 very special people- Mr Innerdale, Mrs Laybourne and Sam Cree who set up an amazing prayer space in school. The children blew us away with their thoughtful prayers and thanks and they had a marvellous time!

• Gateshead SSP Netball

  A fantastic afternoon of netball today with Gateshead SSP. Our team had the chance to improve the skills they had been learning in PE lessons and grew in confidence from match to match. I was so proud of their positive attitudes throughout and we were delighted to be awarded with bronze medals too! Well done everyone!

  

• Gymnastics in Reception

  We have started our new Gymnastics unit in PE. We worked together on the mats to make different shapes and balances with our bodies.

  

• Sportshall Athletics

  Today our Sportshall Athletics team are heading off to county finals, having been crowned Gateshead Champions before Christmas. They are an incredible bunch of children and we wish them the best of luck today in what is always an exciting and fun event. The result isn't important today - how proud you always make us, absolutely is! Good luck Team Ryton!!

  

• Shapes!

  In Maths this week, we have been working with 3D shapes. We have been naming them, describing their properties and looking at the 2D shapes that make up their faces. We have also been sorting them according to the number of vertices they have, whether they have straight or curved faces and edges, and whether or not they can roll or stack.
