  2KW and 4CR were so lucky to have Mr White visit our class and teach them how to use the Makey Makey.

  They created different circuits using wires and our body to pass electricity through and play music on a virtual piano.

  It was so much fun!

  

• Chinese New Year

  Nursery have been celebrating the Chinese New Year and made their very own Chinese dragon to symbolise wisdom, power, and wealth. They've also been making numicon pop in playdoh and just having fun!

  

• Y5/6 basketball team

  A huge congratulations to our Y5/6 basketball team on taking 1st place today. Not only did you run your socks off but you all demonstrated super sportsmanship and were great ambassadors of Ryton Federation!

  Well Done to all of the other schools in our cluster that competed alongside us and thank you for Thorp Academy for having us!

  

• Jarrow Hall

  Year 4 had a very enjoyable trip to Jarrow Hall last week.

   

  They learnt all sorts of new facts about Anglo Saxon food and farming, runes and their meanings, and the Anglo-Saxon system of punishment.

   

  A highlight for many children was sitting in the great hall around the fire, listening to the tale of Beowulf and solving an Anglo-Saxon riddle.
