Writing
Did you take part in the #WRITEUNITE poetry writing competition about Sports Day? There is still time if you’d like to. All the resources and details are in Year 6 English Week 5. Entry deadline 8th July. This week we will be looking at suspense narratives based on the unit ‘Treasure.’ You will work through different activities and lessons, revising and building on skills and techniques to help you write your own treasure finding suspense story. There are additional tasks on hyphens, dashes and figurative language. It may take longer than a week to complete the tasks – please work at your own pace.
Grammar and punctuation
The lessons below will help you understand some of the tasks in your Talk 4 Writing booklet in more depth. Have a go at them before writing your suspense story. There are some practice activities as well.
