Victoria Falls
Located on the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is one of the largest in the world. It is more than a kilometre wide and more than one hundred metres high. The noise of the water can be heard from approximately 40 kilometres away! It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Although the falls were named after Queen Victoria by explorer David Livingstone, Mosi-O-Tunya is the name given to the falls by the local tribe. It translates to ‘The smoke that thunders.’
