Positive, Respectful and Safe

Miss Bottomley - 6AB

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all still keeping well and are enjoying your home learning. This week there is hopefully something for everyone so have a look at the Y6 resources page and see what the plan has to offer. Every subject is there from maths and science to French, technology and P.E. All the literacy is linked to our World War II topic so channel your inner Chamberlain or Churchill and see what you can come up with for your speech!

I have been really impressed with how many more of you have returned to your reading plus and some of you have been reaching the next level so keep it up. I always send your certificates via email so you can have a mini achievers assembly at home!

Don't forget VE Day on Friday 8th - there will be lots of coverage in the media so definitely something for you budding historians.

Keep sharing your work on the bog or via email. I always love to see what you have been doing.

Take care all of you,

Miss B smiley

Hello to you all!

It is a lovely Sunday afternoon and it feels very strange to think that I will not be seeing most of you in class tomorrow. Not to worry, I am sure we will all adapt to this new way of working, and keeping in touch, very quickly.

Hopefully the home learning packs we have put together for you will either already be with you at home or will be collected shortly and there you will find lots of activities to ensure you can keep practising skills in maths and English.

As well as this, there will be other curriculum activities and ideas for things you can do with your family whilst at home. Our next topic would have been World War II so there is a selection of tasks to choose from which I hope you will share on our blog so that we can all be inspired by your creations.

Throughout the weeks to come, I will be posting other lessons and activities that may interest you. At the moment, these can be found on our class page 6AB along with a suggested timetable for the week which you can follow if you would like to. For example, from Monday, Joe Wicks will be delivering a 30 minute PE session on YouTube every morning at 9am for everyone to wake up to!

There will be a live history lesson on Facebook that you can join on Wednesday at 1pm from a WWII bunker in Liverpool, with follow-up activities too. More information to follow here.

Why not join me as we travel 'Around the World in 80 days?' Follow the route from country to country and learn a little bit about the culture, language, geography or traditions everyday. Resources should be posted by 12pm each day or why not plan your own route and explore the world your own way?

I can't wait to see your blogs and find out about your home learning journeys so stay in touch.

Until then, I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine in your gardens and making the most of family time.

Take care all of you,

Miss B
