What a fantastic day we had yesterday for our sports day, luckily the sun was shining! ☀️
All of the children cheered for their friends and it was so lovely hearing ‘you can do it!’ and ‘well done’. We took part in lots of traditional races and I was so impressed with their determination, resilience and skill.
They’re all winners in my book 🥇
We are so sorry that loved ones couldn’t be with us for Reception’s first sports day but I have added lots of pictures that captured the fun of the day 🏃🏻♂️
Wow! Look at our sentence writing in phonics.
Miss Byrne is so proud of all the fantastic efforts from every single child this morning!
Reception have been loving the story of 'the three little pigs'.
On Friday, we split into 3 groups and built houses made of sticks, wood and bricks. We were introduced to the big bad hairdryer, who wanted to huff and puff and blow our house down!
We predicted that only the brick house would stay standing, but the team who built the house of sticks did such a good job that the big bad hairdryer had no chance!
Miss Byrne and Mrs Tait were so impressed with the teamwork from all of the children, their communication skills were fantastic!
Reception have had lots of fun today in all weathers.
This morning, we were jumping in puddles outside and testing out our new outdoor sweeping brushes against the rain, soap and bubbles!
Then, we went on our second visit to the forest area.
Miss Byrne and Mrs Tait were so impressed with all the children for always listening, walking and working so well together. We were swinging, climbing, playing games and we even had a hot chocolate break and went on our own bear hunt.
Can you believe we even had time to learn our new sound 'd' in Phonics.
Fantastic work Reception!
Miss Byrne's class have been describing various fruit and vegetables today as part of health week.
This afternoon, we tasted some of the fruit and vegetables we described from plums to radishes we tried them all.
Miss Byrne and Mrs Tait were so proud of all the children for giving foods a try they hadn't before - even when they were super sour and made our faces scrunch up.
Well done Reception!
