Tiny Turtle, our Year 5 maths mascot

Meet the newest member of Year 5- Tiny the turtle, our maths mascot! Tiny can occasionally make mistakes with his maths. Our pupils develop their maths vocabulary and reasoning skills when explaining where he has made errors and show their understanding when correcting his misconceptions. Of course, we always reassure Tiny that we can often learn lots from our mistakes!

Our first two, very well-deserved , hot chocolate Friday winners.

Super Scientists! Year 5 investigated which materials conducted electricity, were magnetic, were transparent, translucent or opaque, or were rigid or malleable. They showed fantastic scientific skills as well as having lots of fun.

PHSE in Year 5. We read the beautiful picture book ‘Bloom’ , and discussed those things that make us bloom and wilt. We developed our teamwork skills to save a hapless snake, Fred, from drowning- all without touching him or the equipment! Finally, we discussed our class rules and drew up a class charter.
